Thursday (22/7), the Ministry of Public Works and Housing represented by the Head of the Yogyakarta Housing Provision handed over the dorm keys to the Head of The Center for Agrotechnology Innovation (PIAT).
“I hope that even though the keys of the dormitory have been handed over, we will continue to communicate because as long as the building are in the final handover stage, these dorms will still be our responsibility,” said M. Arifman, S.T., M.M as the Head of the Yogyakarta Housing Provision when giving a speech.
“Whereas the use of dormitory as Covid-19 shelters, PIAT could coordinate directly with the Social Service and Health Office. Hopefully this dorm will give a lot of benefit to many people,” he added.
The enhancement of Covid-19 cases in Yogyakarta has caused Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to contribute in providing shelter for symptomatic and intermediate patients. One of the buildings allocated was the PIAT’s Dormitory which was allocated for Covid-19 survivors in the Eastern Sleman region.
