Nowadays online shopping has become the best choice to get through this Covid-19 pandemic. Only by using our smartphone, we could fulfill our needs.
This event encourages the Center of Agrotechnology Innovation (PIAT) to create a PIAT Shop. PIAT Shop offers various kinds of veggies and proteins such as milk, fish, chicken meat, and frozen food.
Dr. Ir. Taryono M. Sc, the head of the Center of Agrotechnology Innovation (PIAT) UGM, stated that PIAT online shopping had been done since 2018. The transaction was done by using PIAT UGM’s website and the pick up took place at several PIAT’s stores.
Unfortunately, this business did not bloom as it is today. In 2019, PIAT UGM collaborated with Gojek to resurrect the business. Then, in early 2020, the PIAT Shop had gone one step near its goal.
“Because of this Covid-19 pandemic and the government’s appeal to not going outside, so we encourage the team to promote this platform,” he stated, at PIAT UGM, Berbah, Sleman, on Monday (6/4)
Taryono said the customer of this PIAT Shop is not limited only civitas, but also open to everyone. But for now, the quota of transactions each day is limited.
PIAT UGMcollaborates with local farmers and several partners because it could not provide the stock by itself. For example, RPA as the supplier of the PIAT Shop’s chicken. PIAT UGM has various kind of product that is sold in it such as singkongku, beans, eggplant, pomfret, parrotfish, and catfish.
Not only encourage the people to online shop, but PIAT UGM also helps to suppress the spreading of the virus by giving farmworkers counseling. PIAT UGM also collaborates with Ciomas and locals to organize the road through this pandemic.
Triya Andriyani, S.P., M.Sc., the Coordinator of Information and Public Relations, stated that the system of online shopping at PIAT Shop is by preorder at bit.ly/piatshop. Then, the order processed and would be delivered the next day.
“So, if the consumer is included on today’s list, then the orders would be delivered tomorrow. This system is to preserve the quality of the veggies,” she said.
Products that are offered by PIAT Shop are fresh veggies, meats, fish (meats and fish in frozen condition), frozen food that is collaborated with PT Ciomas, and PIAT’s processed food like singkongku and bottled milk.
Triya adds PIAT UGM would collaborate with the farmers or the cattlemen who experience the hardship of selling their product through this pandemic in the future. While the price of the product would later follow the market’s price each day.
“We sell the fresh veggies in the packages. There are 50 thousand and 100 thousand for the package. And for the maximum distance of the order is 30km, because we use Gosend as our delivery method,” she elaborates.
The orders would only be processed by Whatsapp (only click the link on number 1). Then, it would be answered and noted by the admin. For the payment, the consumer would be directed to transfer into Triya’s account at 1370007455716 (Mandiri).
Currently, the quota for each day only 20. The orders could be done from Monday to Thursday at 12.00 IWT at most.
“For the transfer’s deadline is at 14.00, delivered the next day. While Friday and Saturday’s order would be delivered on Monday. This will starts on April 2nd because its main goal is to help the people to fulfill their food need through this emergency period,” she said.
