The animal husbandry and animal health sub-sector aim to increase livestock productivity through various innovations in livestock breeds, feed, and livestock raising environments. The field of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health PIAT UGM is supported by many supporting facilities, including:
- Two units of the cowshed facilities with a capacity of 20 cows to support research and practicum activities.
- Installation of the biogas digester and its supporting equipment.
- Animal husbandry laboratories in the form of teaching farm chicken cages and Animal Post Harvest Laboratory/RPA
- Deer enclosure and equipment
The livestock developed in PIAT includes dairy cows, beef cattle, Bali cows, Etawa crossbreed goats, spotted deer, Timor deer, and broiler chickens.
